MORE PRODUCTION INFO ...

Pietro Mascagni’s Cavalleria rusticana returned to the Carlo Felice Theater in 2019, more than a decade after its last staging in 2007. This verismo masterpiece, first performed in 1890, captures the raw passions of Sicilian village life, where honor, jealousy, and betrayal erupt into tragedy. Mascagni’s score, with its sweeping melodies and powerful choral scenes, remains one of the most enduring works of Italian opera.
